PCC for SharePoint v7.0 includes the following new or enhanced functionality:
New Installer
The installation process has been completely re-written for PCC for SharePoint v7.0. The installer has been simplified and shipped as a single package and can be installed either using a GUI application or PowerShell. By improving the installation process and reducing the number of packages and steps required to install the product, you can start using the product immediately.
Revamped Configuration Pages
Configuring your PCC for SharePoint installation has been never been easier with a completely redesigned, intuitive interface that has a familiar SharePoint look and feel. It is now simple to configure Digital Rights Management at a Site Collection, Web Application, or more granular level. PCC for SharePoint now also includes Annotation rights management as part of the DRM solution.
Improved Multi-Server Support
As part of the configuration improvements, global settings required to support multi-server installs have been included and can easily be managed in the configuration interface. You are no longer required to edit source code or configuration files to set up a multi-server environment.
Diagnostic Troubleshooting Tools
As varied as SharePoint configurations can be, there is always a chance that issues will be encountered while configuring or using PCC for SharePoint. Version 7 now ships with new diagnostic tools that can help you quickly troubleshoot configuration or permissions problems with your applications. We have also improved exception handling and logging as well as made better use of informative messages to users and administrators.
Completely re-written HTML Help
The new web-based help now includes advanced installation and configuration guides that help you plan your installation and ensure a successful outcome. We also include architectural and component overviews to help you better understand the product.
